Tiger Cage (1988)

Yuen Woo-Ping is a master of his craft and Tiger Cage (1988) is a terrific police thriller that showcases his insanely choreographed action sequences. Things explode in spectacular fashion while characters get dispatched in a variety of grisly ways.

While the action is hard-hitting and intense, it’s the interesting characters and the formidable actors that make this film a solid winner. I dare anyone to come up with a stronger cast than Jacky Cheung, Do Do Cheng, Ng Man-Tat, Simon Yam, Leung Ka-Yan and a very young Donnie Yen.

Uncompromising, vicious and utterly gripping.
